Success at the Eisteddfod
Mary Mac returns from the Toowoomba and Darling Downs Eisteddfod loud and proud! After tremendous amounts of work and training from all our performers, our arts students have returned with plenty of high scores from across the competition.
The College entered in 25 items and were awarded 8 first places, 3 second places, 4 third places and 3 highly commended. We are extremely proud of all our soloists, trios and groups who performed exceptionally well throughout the Eisteddfod. This competition is the perfect opportunity for our students to receive specialised feedback by adjudicators while competing against students from across Toowoomba.
A special mention to our students performing in the percussion section, both our junior and senior drumlines received first place in their divisions! Their hard work has definitely paid off, a big thank you to our students, staff, and volunteers for their enormous effort in preparing the ensemble for their final performance, resulting in the Ensemble Trophy for the second year running!
Meanwhile, our dancers had the opportunity to compete at both the Darling Downs and Toowoomba Eisteddfod against other primary and secondary troupes. Our troupes were led by Year 12 student, Charlotte, and 2021 alumni, Maddy, who both put in a huge amount of time and effort in getting the groups performance ready. The competition was tough, but they left with smiles on their faces after achieving incredible results, we can’t wait to see what’s next for our dancers.
A big thank you to all the staff and parents who have supported our students and given up their time to make it possible for such a successful Eisteddfod!
