Students support local Winter Blanket and Jacket Drive
The College’s Actioning Mary MacKillop Advocacy (AMMA) group are running their annual Winter Blanket and Jacket Drive from Monday, Week 4 through to Monday, Week 9 of Term 2.
Last year, families across the College were extremely generous, donating hundreds of blankets and warm jackets for those in our community who are experiencing homelessness or need some extra warmth for winter.
AMMA is calling on our P-12 families to assist again this year. All donations of blankets and jackets will be given to Tony’s Community Kitchen which operates 7 days/week, 365 days/year from behind The Settlers Inn on the corner of James and Ruthven Streets in Toowoomba. See here for more information about Tony’s Community Kitchen.
While brand new blankets are ideal, Tony’s Community Kitchen also accepts blankets and jackets that are in good, used condition.
Information for P-6 students and their families:
Blankets and jackets/coats can be donated through the Junior reception, or your child/ren may bring the donation to their classroom, where their teacher will store it until Monday, Week 9.
